Not a summary and not a sales brochure. The same considered approach as the articles, given room to develop an argument properly.

PDF keeps the layout exactly as designed. EPUB reflows to fit a phone, a tablet or a Kindle. Take whichever suits how you read.
Three steps, about a minute
- Pick your formatPDF if you intend to read on a computer or print it. EPUB if you would rather read on a phone, tablet or e-reader, where the text will resize to suit you.
- Press the buttonThe file saves to your usual downloads folder. On a phone it may go to Files or Downloads, depending on your device.
- Open it in whatever you already useNothing special is required. If you are sending it to a Kindle, see the note below; that one has a small extra step.
On your particular device
- iPhone or iPadChoose EPUB. It opens in Apple Books as soon as the download finishes, and your place is kept between sessions.
- KindleChoose EPUB, then send it across using Amazon’s Send to Kindle, by app, by email or from the website. A Kindle cannot open a file straight from a browser, which catches most people out once.
- Android phone or tabletEither format works. EPUB opens in most reading apps; PDF opens in almost anything already installed.
- Computer, or printing it outChoose PDF. Diagrams, tables and layout stay exactly as they were designed, which matters for anything you plan to print or annotate.
An idea that stays behind a form reaches almost nobody. These eBooks exist to be read, forwarded to a colleague, and argued with. If one of them is useful, pass it on; that is the only return being asked for.
Nothing about your visit is recorded beyond a count of how many copies have gone out. No email address is requested, no account is created, and no cookie is set by the download.
