Copywriting Content Types

A content marketing strategy can make use of different content types to tell stories about a business and feature relatable characters and narratives. This could increase awareness of and interest in products and services, generating customer leads and sales.

Blog Posts

The purpose of a business blog is to attract and engage visitors, by regularly posting content that appeals to their target audience.

Blog posts can build awareness of your business brand, by helping potential customers find answers to questions and solutions to issues. The subject matter and writing style of a blog post could be informed by researching customer data and using surveys designed to learn about audience interests and preferences. I wrote The Impact of Artificial Intelligence blog post to explore some of the issues related to the increasing use of AI. View blog post examples

Landing Pages

Website landing pages are designed for a specific purpose, such as promoting subscriptions to lead magnets, or sales conversion, using clear calls to action (CTAs).

I wrote this sample website landing page for fictional software company B2GrowSocialCRM. They sell customer relationship management (CRM) software to small and medium sized enterprises. The landing page content highlights key benefits to a business of using tools available with the CRM. A/B testing can be used to compare the effectiveness of different landing page strategies. I wrote this sample email sales funnel for fictional B2B (business to business) company Cloud9TechUK. They sell cloud services to small and medium sized enterprises and want to attract new clients and retain existing clients. The email sequence sample begins with a welcome message, which is followed by a lead development email, sales conversion email and re-engagement emails for inactive users. An email newsletter sent to subscribers can increase customer engagement, by sharing content that engages customer interest, drives traffic and helps to increase sales. .

I wrote this sample email newsletter for fictional cybersecurity company SecureITCyberUK. The newsletter highlights key security issues to be aware of and the services they provide to their clients. Offering a free newsletter subscription, in return for an email address, can be an effective way of building an email marketing list. I wrote this sustainable technology article in the style of a white paper, to look at the use of cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI). In a B2B context white papers can be a form of content marketing used by a business to raise their profile, by engaging the interest of their target audience. View white paper example

Interactive Infographics

Illustrating copywriting with relevant images can boost user engagement and understanding. Their effectiveness can be increased further if visual content is interactive.

The smartphone interactive infographic provides an example of a product simulation that enables users to assemble a mobile phone from components, by dragging and dropping them into place on the device. A mobile network interactive infographic shows other technology, which together enable mobile communication. Simplified images are used to represent components, which when they are in moved to the correct location lock in place and can be selected to display relevant technical information.
